PestHQ.comTwo posts ago we mentioned that we had been throwing around a couple of names for our new up and coming pest site.

PestHQ was our favourite and we were able to get the .com which is an important aspect for us.

Let us know what you think of the logo, we would appreciate the feedback. Tweek away!

OK, here is the thought process:

1. Guy with big-ass weapon, ready to shoot rats etc. Laugh out loud.
2. Laugh some more, cos its damn funny
3. Cup of coffee. Think about it some more. Well, I actually like little critters.
4. Sheesh, gun, animals. Hectic man.
5. You ou’s are pretty cruel.
6. Unsubscribe feed from Live Alchemy.

Hehe, nice one Fred. If you like little critters you won’t be needing what PestHQ is selling. Fortunately for us there are plenty of people who want them blasted!

Karin H. March 29, 2007

Half agree with Fred, there’s too much violence out here - there already.

Change the gun to a looking glass (HQ -> MI5, MI6, CIA, FBI etc) and pepper the logo with bugs, small rats and the likes.

Besides that, still like Pest-a-Side better ;-)

Andrew March 29, 2007

You still haven’t convinced me Karin. Our extensive research (ok, not really extensive) shows that if you’re desperate enough to Google for “rat problem, need help”, you want to find a company that has the firepower to make the problem disappear. You don’t need a guy with a magnifying glass - you already know that the rats/mosquitos/ants/moles are there! All the sleepless nights have removed your sensitivity towards violence.

At least, that’s our current thinking?

Karin H. March 29, 2007

Imagine a puny mosquito flying, buzzing around. Tiny little creature.

PestHQ solution: big gun, bazooka.

Sounds like ‘overkill’ ;-)

My current thinking on HQ (still like Pest-a-Side better, go away nasty little creature, step a side): HQ’s find solutions for known problems after proper investigation = hence the looking glass: we’ve found a solution for your problem because we’ve looked at it from all sides and this is the best for you.

No fire power but thinking power - resolves the problem better.

Like others, I found the gun image disturbing - and I don’t even live where you are - but then I wondered, does your research tell you who in a traditional family household makes the decision on whom to call to get rid of the critters, and if whether it’s mainly women or mainly men, have you tested the image on a gender basis and what response have you had? Etc etc. I can’t help wondering if you are going to amuse many and turn off most. They are bugs after all, not The Aliens.

Aubrey April 4, 2007

I personally think that cockroaches are from hell. If not, then they are probably aliens!! Sometimes a bazooka is all that works :) Do you guys have any plans on selling cockroach killers. If you are I’ll take 50. Just in case.

… if you haven’t noticed by now, I have issues with cockroaches …

I like the logo. But then again, that’s probably because the guy reminds me of the character in Hitman.

Thanks for the feedback everyone - we’ll take these into consideration and post up some new designs shortly.

TCMG May 17, 2007

Sorry Shane,

but the whole logo requires a redesign as it is not effective at all….unless you are trying for home security and you are playing on the word “pest”

TCGM over and out!
